There is no shortage of great and fun dice games to play with friends and family. With all the latest technology like video game consoles and smartphones taking over the interests of children and adults, it is easy to forget about simple things like dice games. The best dice games are not only simple, but actually fun. Whether you are a child or an adult, everyone can enjoy a dice board game.

1.BUNCO

Bunco is a dice game where you need nine board game dice and a lot of luck. Typically, 12 people play Bunco, and those 12 people divided into teams of four. More or fewer players can join, but the total number of people playing the game must be divisible by four in order to play the game.

How to Play

Players must try to roll a number that corresponds to the round they are currently playing. For example, if a player’s score reaches around 3, then they should try to roll three 3s. Similarly, in the 5th round, players need to roll five 5s. Every time someone successfully rolls the dice, this is called a Bunco. When there is a Bunco, one point is awarded for each Bunco claimed. The winning team is the team with the most points at the end of the game.

2.Mexico

Mexico is another fun dice game with simple dynamics. The game uses two dice to roll, and each player given an extra dice. The dice will determine how many lives each player will have after each round, so it will start at 6 and run out accordingly. After each game, the lowest dice roll will be considered a loss, so that particular player will lose a life. The winner of Mexico is the player who is still standing after all players have rolled their dice and lost lives.

3.Shut the Box

This is a new dice board game that is becoming more and more popular nowadays. While the above games are all simple affairs, “Shut the Box” encourages players to really use their brain power, which is what makes it so fun.

Gameplay

Usually played inside a wooden box that displays the current number, each player will roll the dice and use combinations to reach one of the numbers shown on the wooden display. As each number matched, the number inside the wooden display will flipped over. If the number 1 is the only number left, then the player only needs to roll one dice in the hope of reaching the final number. Once a player is able to successfully match all of the numbers, they declared the winner and therefore must “close the box.” Although many adults play “Shut The Box” in a gambling manner, “Shut The Box” also makes for a great family game that can easily taken on vacation or even played while out and about.
